Tiny Houses Are Cute. Little Kitchens? Not So Much.
The client wanted to update their kitchen and interior. Despite the gorgeous high ceilings, the floor plan was oddly divided, making the kitchen area squashed and giving little room for entertaining and general livability. The owners were looking for some breathing room.
Kitchen Expansion Breathes New Life into Room
Kitchen Design Gallery created a mudroom/drop zone to give the homeowner’s storage in the path of least resistance. Removing the wall between the kitchen, living room and the fireplace from the hearth room allowed the contractor to turn the kitchen around and open up the entire south side of the house with glass. To maximize space and aesthetics, they installed 15 inch deep walnut inset wall cabinets and used all drawer bases for everything below the countertop.
